Poor recording quality. Distorted vocal and compressed soundstage. Glad they found but not a pleasant listen. Great pressing and quiet vinyl. But GIGO

Glad the tapes were restored as this is a historic concert, but unfortunately it has a bootleg sound to it.

I'm enjoying it but the sound is not exactly stellar. I guess it's the best with what they may have had. It says that the tapes were restored and then mastered so I'm glad we have it.
I have had various DVDs of this concert, all in bootle form, through the years but the audio was always a problem on those. This sounds leaps and bounds better than those do.
I had to turn my base down a little and turn up the mid-range and highs a little. I wish I knew the story of what this tape might have gone through. It's not bad sounding, it's just real mono sounding. And maybe it is mono? The mix sounds like it could have been a little bit better to me. But then again, I just got finished listening to the Pink Floyd Animals 2018 remix LP that also got released today in America. So maybe I should have gone the other way with the audio/LPs I chose to listen to first when listening?
I've had some really good Craft Recordings LPs in the past. I've had one or two that weren't that great also. I'm not getting any noise or artifacts I don't want so that is real good. But I'm only on Side A right now.
Once again, I don't see anything mentioning the half speed mastered on the LP or LP sleeve. It is on the hype sticker of course stating that Giles Martin and Sam Okell were responsible for the restoring and mastering at Abbey Road Studio. The wording on how it was half speed mastered is a little strange to me. The hype sticker calls it "...an exacting half speed technique for superior sound..."
Overall, I'm happy I got it and I will enjoy it.
I'm glad I decided to go ahead and finish the whole LP because I do have some light snap, crackle, and pop on Side B. I had a white speck that was on the second side. It wouldn't brush off and I was thinking it was in the vinyl at first. But with a little extra brushing it did come off. I'm not sure where it came from or if that's where the noise artifact came in? But they did clear up within about a minute or two of having them occur. So I am wondering what that white spend it may have been?
Once again, and of course after finishing the whole album which I do anyway before writing reviews, I'm still glad I got it. It's got a clean sound but it's not a real hi-fi type of sound. But overall it does sound good. And it's good to have a good recording of this show finally. Now I just need to rip it and do a video project with those terrible audio DVD videos :-)
