The quality is a what you’d expect from a clear vinyl pressing, ya know, ok. That said, what a great album and record to put on. Mother F this a buckle in kind of spin. Side 1 begins with letting you know this is the Afghan Whigs you know then lulls you a bit as it takes you on a pleasant little journey with some accessible tracks. Then you get up and put on side 2 and it’s 100% the sound from a band who deserves to be as respected today as back in the day. New fans or old this a record worth a listen for sure and easily argued for as a worthy place in your collection.

I have very mixed emotions about this version. Some tracks play well (Please, Baby, Please) and some awful (Jyja). Very inconsistent sound from track to track. Overall this record lacks drum and vocal presence.

No noise on my copy; a perfect playing copy. Boy did I underestimate every aspect of this record. I regretted buying it at first thinking I did just cos I like the Whigs but that it was a lesser-quality release.

Not at all. I rank it third-best behind Black Love and Gentleman. A mature, beautiful album that feels so good and healthy that you smile on the inside knowing Dulli must be doing really, really well... a refreshing thing in the world of rock and roll, especially a band so cathartic as the Whigs, who you could easily imagine might have tumultuous personal lives.

I also thought the mastering here was a bit flat and was mistaken there. Howie Weinberg does an excellent job and the final product is dynamic, shimmery, and well-balanced. Just buy it!

Some inner groove distortion on side A, which ruins a bit my favorite track, Please baby please… Anyone else?
