From the slowly-building rawness of I Wanna Be Adored to the head-spinning elation of She Bangs the Drums, the 60s-esque jauntiness of Waterfall to the grandiose patchwork of I Am the Resurrection, one has access to a great many anthems within the multifarious confines of the self-titled debut LP from Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni.

Got ripped if with this version at record fair. New sealed copy to replace my 2nd press 89 version that had been played to death.
Lots of pops and clicks even after an ultrasonic clean. Mastering is awful and killed the original vibe of the album.. Avoid at all costs..

This cassette sounds awesome I prefer it over the fist 2 presses on vinyl.

Please note there are several matrix variants and at least two different sleeve designs. The sleeve variant is rather subtle, one includes the information for the Garage Flower Japanese fanclub and the other does not. It is unconfirmed which one was issued first.

Bought this new, number 5070. Absolutely the most majestic sounding album.

The pressing itself is fine, but it seems to have been compressed to the point where it feels almost lifeless. A so-so pressing with only the clear vinyl to go for.

Agreed that rainbo records just kinda sucks, but a great pressing if you can get lucky with one that isn’t defective. My copy has a lot of unfortunate noise that is very present after cleaning, goes away when the music kicks in though.

Can’t compare it to another pressing but my copy is silent with no issues. Sounds good to me.

A few pops here and there. Even after ultrasound cleaning. Not the best pressing, but for this price it's ok.

Not a great remaster. There's a little bit more heft to the bass than the original CD, but it's still not what you'd hope for. And there's a shrill harshness to the guitars, particularly in the last couple minutes of Resurrection, that'll have you reaching to turn the volume down.
On balance, the original CD release - though quieter and lacking in bass - is a more pleasant listen.
It's been over 30 years now. Why has no-one been able to give us a CD version of this classic that improves on the original?
