Outstanding sound. Clarity, space, dynamics, everything fantastic. I managed to find a near mint copy in a second hand record shop in Tokyo one year ago . My copy is number 6098 and I am thankful to the previous owner, who took every effort to protect and use well this record. The price I paid was about 40 EUR, yes, true. I could not believe I was so lucky.

Where's the numbering on the release? Everything else checks out, OREZ LP 502, correct barcode, runout text, gatefold double 45 rpm etc, but I can't see any info regarding numbering?

I was lucky enough to get a bargain on an imperfect looking but great-playing copy on here years ago and can back up all of the other comments about how great it sounds.
But does anyone know the backstory to why this even exists? Double 45 sets weren't a thing yet in 1991, at least not the way they are now. How did this release come about? How was it marketed? Was the idea that fans loved the 12" single versions? I've always found it so weird about how little information there is to be found about this release. Especially since it wasn't even made in particularly small numbers. ~20,000 copies for a weird niche pseudo-audiophile release as vinyl interest was bottoming out is not exactly a small run, y'know? -
This is my go to copy out of several pressings in my arsenal. Fans complain about lack of bass on most Roses debut pressings, but Mani plays a Rickenbacker 4001 which are subtle in nature. 45RPM is the magic on this pressing.

I bought this the year of release more as a curiosity than anything else, maybe played it once out of interest but continued to play my original single record version. Thank God I did as my equipment wasn't great back in those days and I now have a virtually mint copy to enjoy. Goes without saying I agree with everyone else, the 2 lp version sounds amazing.

Just picked this version up and the sound quality is impressive. Shame about the factory pressing quality tho as there are some visible surface imperfections, although they don't affect play. Does anyone know how many were pressed. My number is 19903 and I suspect this is be near the end of the run which may explain the imperfections in the pressing.

yep, echoing the sentiments about this being the go-to pressing. it shines at 45. I've never heard this record sound so good. this is THE definitive version folks

Definitive pressing of this iconic album. All tracks soar at 45RPM. The Modern Classic Recording reissue (pressed at Rainbo) sounds bloated and muffled compared to this. The 33RPM first press would be my second choice supplemented with the individual 45RPM 12” singles.
