My pressing was bought new and it remans immaculate.- no surface noise or cracks or pops at all. Critically listening tonight reminds me that this really is a superb pressing of a mesmerising album. I borrowed a copy of Kid A Mnesiac and it as not a patch on this sonically so I gave it back The soundstage is great and the instruments hang in space beautifully

I came late to Radiohead, but not too late it seems. I've been listening to Kid A on and off since my son showed me 'Idioteque' live on Youtube about 3 years ago, and I'm still finding detail and subtlety in the haunting melodies and arrangements. Listening again today on headphones, I enter a world so far from what Rock Music is about that you might not believe that this was produced by the same band that offered us The Bends.

This a world where life is full only of fragments of dreams and nightmares. Electronic treatments and samples are cut and paste like some aural Guernica - stark images of horror, yearning, loss - and held together by droning basslines, soaring strings that mimic the inevitability that life, with all its faults, forces us on from one day to the next. Bleak, yes, but very human and without loud political bombast, Radiohead offer insights into the fabric of living that no other comparable musicians dare consider.

To the reader looking for a guide ("This is worth listening to if you also like the music of xxx!") you'll like it if you like music that takes you to places that are uncomfortably familiar only when you are asleep, when you were a child, when you were gripped by despair that you would ever escape your pain...

This is the antithesis of Ambient and ChillOut...and no less enjoyable!

hopefully there will be represses of this when vinyl pressings gets their crap together. Despite the Kid A mensia box set, the 10 inch records always looks so cool in my book

Amazing record, average pressing, pops and clicks on all sides - welcome to Radiohead vinyl, the band who never get the quality right.
