I was surprised recently when I listened to this original pressing just how dull it is. Very dull in the highs and not particularly exciting in other regards. Then I played the 2016 2xLP 12" and noticed the difference was in fact inherent to the pressing, with the 2016 offering greater treble and slightly better separation.
Conclusion: unless you are a collector, don't spend a lot on this original pressing. Sound-wise, it's not worth it. -
This is the only pressing I've owned, so I can't compare to others. It's clean and neutral-sounding, and certainly detailed. It's certainly not an "exciting" master, and I'd go as far as to call it bass-heavy, but it sounds true to the source material and rewards active listening.

Hard to believe it's been 25 years. I have this copy. 10" x 2 LP set, barcode ends 316. I purchased new back in the day. Dead quiet, flat, extremely detailed. Lots of wax for the groove, and extremely well pressed, and a sonic marvel to boot. LinnLP12.Ekos SE.Kandid.

All I can say is WOW. I have had a reissue of this for year's and always felt it was lackluster. Just picked up a copy of this pressing and I am blown away how good it sounds, 100% audiophile level, just breathtaking.

Hello. What is the difference between this release and the LPKIDA1 Release? Do they sound any different?

Edited one year agoSound quality is excellent! Very fluid a detailed sound with a great soundstage.

pressing sounds great. one of those classic radiohead albums. all killer no filler. great thing to revisit from time to time

This album and Anmesiac were gifts long ago when they were released. They sound excellent. However, they crackled quite a bit but since being ultrasonic cleaned, most of those crackles are long gone. Beautiful sounding record.

Edited 3 years agoThis is an amazing sounding record and one hell of a fine pressing. The electronics sound so good here and create a beautiful full end just making these songs stand out more than they ever have. The CD just can’t portray the striking dynamics in the recording the way the record does. There is a lot more space between the instruments on the vinyl version as opposed to the CD and the soundstage is more robust. This allows for the fine details and minimal electronics to shine through. Drums sound killer but wow that low end is something else. Feels like my stereo system is the recording console and the band is plugged right in. I’m really digging this album on vinyl and imo this is probably the best way to hear this album. When that sax rips in on The National Anthem…kiss yourself goodbye! You can probably find a decent copy of this for around $100 and if you’re thinking about buying this album spending the extra $ is totally worth it. Not only does this record sound awesome but the pressing is super quiet and plays flawlessly. Plus you will have an original pressing which will only increase in value from here in out. A lot of things to consider here.

Please take care in listing your record as this pressing. If you are the buyer, check with the seller to make sure they have the correct pressing. I have ordered this pressing from two different sellers and have received the Capitol pressing both times. I am probably going to keep trying until I finally get one of the records that says Parlophone, but please actually LOOK at the center labels to make sure they say Parlophone before you list it here. Do not just look at the Catalog number. Compare what you have with the pictures.
