Edited 10 years agoPorcupine Tree in a undefinite hiatus, but who cares.
Hand.Cannot.Erase is his fourth album. Itś a new canvas with fresh paint, and this concept album is very inspired by the enigmatic and tragic death of Joyce Carol Vincent who was found dead in her apartment after 3 years post mortem. This is more a detour to his Insurgentes than a continuation on his King Crimson and jazz inspired previous second and third album. Perhaps a nod to PT as well.
"3 Years Older" build up is like hearing Rush in Wilson´s studio. The drum fills to the guitars is unmistakably inspired by the Canadians.. From there it builds up to a grand majestic "Regret# 9".. A fantastic Synth and guitar piece.
Wilson´s quiet moments though is still gripping like always.. He writes amazing harmonically ballad melodies. Simply Godlike and divine in certain parts, like "Perfect Life."
Lot of this album deals in the social media awareness, isolation and reclusiveness. I think he captures it quite brilliantly..
