Notes
The very 1st UK pressing - with NO Large pixelated 0% in lower left corner of b/w side of inner sleeve. All later copies had this added to the inner - including 2 matrix re-pressings. So techincally any copy with the '0%' on the inner is a re-press and not a 1st Pressing as obviously it was added at a later date!
This version has a red pound symbol in the black circle on labels (on left, between TRADE and MARK)
Matrix number stampings end in -1
Matrix numbers stamped except the text in capital letters which is etched
Please see Radiohead - The Bends with large pixelated 0% in lower left corner of b/w side of inner sleeve.
Please see Radiohead - The Bends for the version that has Matrix number stampings ending in -2
Please see Radiohead - The Bends for glossy jacket and inner, large pixelated 0%, Matrix ending -2, only one circle on labels, and no £ on record labels.
Includes printed inner sleeve with artwork, credits and lyrics.

Edited one month agoI have a -2 Parlophone repress and this -1 first press. I really don’t hear much difference in sound quality between the two of them. So I don’t think you’d have to seek out a first press to get the best possible sound quality. The Parlophone represses sound great as well.

I was very very pleasantly surprised to find out today that my copy is not the repress, but this first press!!!
No wonder I'd always thought it sounded very good.
My fave album of all time, no less....I'm a happy camper today!!! -
Fantastic pressing, play tested a near mint copy and it sounds warm with great clarity of sound. Brilliant album too, one of the best. You won't be dissapointed, this is the one to get.

I have a promo of this with a promo sticker on the back UPC code as well. They sent 1 to the college radio station i worked at. This is my favorite press of this landmark album.

I have a promo of this with a promo sticker on the back UPC code. They sent a box of these to my college radio station in '95. It sounds really good. Maybe a little flat, but really good.

Heads up. Discogs has become flooded with scammers this year. This box set seems to be a target. If the price seems too good to be true, the seller has zero , and there aren’t clear details about why it’s rated a certain way, that’s because it is likely a scam. Be cautious.

I have 3 versions of the record (First press, Later 1st press, 2014 Parlophone re-press) and I think I found a way to distinguish (between the 3 versions) if they're SEALED:
If you look at the spine of the cover, focus on the VERY faint white outlines around each letter for "The Bends".
On this first pressing version, the white outlines are to the LEFT of each letter.
On the Later 1st press, the white outlines are to the RIGHT of each letter.
On the 2014 Parlophone re-press (https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/Radiohead-The-Bends/release/6269761), there are NO white outlines. Also, "Radiohead - The Bends" looks way more distorted than on the first pressing and Later 1st pressing versions.
Another commented on the "The Bends" being more pink color on the First Pressing, but to me they all look equally red.
Hope that helps! -
Hi all, just reviewing some of the matrix runouts and other identifiers, as I wanted to determine which issue I own as I suspect that I might have a mixed up sleeve/vinyl copy (which really infuriates me). The sleeve is a glossy single sleeve dated 1995 showing Parlophone and EMI along the bottom. The barcode on the back sleeve is 7 2438 29626 1 8, UK PCS 7372, Printed in UK. The inner sleeve is also glossy and does inc the pixelated '0%' in the corner. The labels on the vinyl (which appears mint !) have the red pound sign inside the black circles on both sides. The matrix run offs are as follows; Side A - PCS 7372 A-01-01- SHE'S OUT WITH HER ANSWERPHONE D. Side B - PCS 7372 B-01-01- (NICE DREAM) D. Does anyone have any idea which pressing this ? I've owned it for at least 10 years which rules out later re-pressings. Many thanks. Sal.

Not a single review of how this sounds?!?!?
Would this be considered the “best” audio pressing of this album and/or has anyone compared this to any repressings or a U.S. version? -
I'm fond of Thom York and dream about collecting vinyl records with all his artworks. He's such a genius...
