My copy is in the 11k's and is a very good one... flat and silent. It would probably be the best vinyl version i had heard but i also own the 1Step and the 1Step is considerably MORE. The switch to 45rpm really opens up the mid to end sides vs the 33rpm here with added clarity across the board, bass impact, dynamics and SNR. Its a notable improvement as you would hope given the ittedly daft prices Mofi charge for them. For the rrp the Mofi 33 is decent but i wouldnt pay much above the rrp for one now, especially if you can still get a 1Step at a normal rrp price or below.

Edited 7 months agoThe release date on this pressing shows 2013, but my receipt, yes, I keep them all, shows July 27, 2012. I think we have the wrong year on this?
BTW, my number is #2,384. and I agree with RecordsFromHome, I expected better and although Blood on the Tracks is my all time favorite album, this pressing is my least favorite. It just does not sound so good compared to other pressings. -
Limited edition... well we are now at over 21300 numbered copies, wonder what the limit is...?
...or is it limited to 2000 / year, every year? -
Edited one year agoProbably a matter of taste. Just A/B’d against a Canadian og and the MOFI is cleaner and clearer as to be expected but the hi hats are bordering on sounding like a drum machine lol.. so something ain’t right with that. The og copy isn’t presented as safe and clean but it breathes more natural ‘vintage’ soul out of the music. It sounds more full in the midrange and if it’s not ‘as’ crystal clear it doesn’t mean it’s lacking in clarity. It’s certainly noisier than the pitch black silent background of the MOFI, but it really has more charm and sounds more analog where I’m sorry but the MOFI sounds more like a CD. However I compared the MOFI against Tidal and of course it sounds better, so it’s got that going for it.

Oh my God!! Never had I listened to this album like this. Nothing to do with my old japanese CD. Much more warmer and much less shrill than that other version. Totally worth its price.

Edited 10 months agoI found this to be a very satisfying spin. Ticks all the right boxes, and it’s a clean pressing - for a change. The music speaks for itself - it’s Dylan’s best album, never bettered.

I wasn’t blown away to be honest. I was hoping for a brighter jingle/jangle on guitars and cymbals. I have 2 pressings from 1975 and both are more lively and dynamic in separation and mid range. Quality vinyl LP, sleeve and jacket. Quiet groove floor. Just doesn’t measure up sonically to other pressings in my opinion. As a collector, it’s nice to have but it’s not the “go to” copy unfortunately.

Edited one year agoVery light scratches on Buckets of Rain on Side B that look like they'd not cause an issue but I have three or four loud pops. Two vacuum cleans and a Zerostat didn't help. Can only get a refund from Music Direct, not an exchange. Debating just keeping it. #22138 from the recent repress.
