Can anyone confirm if there's IGD at the end of both sides of disc 1? In particular Back Seat Of My Car? I have the OG uk, and it has IGD, and every other version I've heard has it. I'm looking at this version now that's available at a nearby shop.

non ho nessun'altra versione, ma questa mi pare straordinaria. sono felicissimo di averla, anche per gli extra del secondo disco che potrebbero arricchire qualsiasi album. per me suona benissimo, ampio, potente, definito e con un basso eccellente.

Bought this for the second LP, I own a first UK pressing of Ram and had no intention of replacing it. To my absolute shock... I think this Ram LP sounds better than my first UK. It's more balanced, has a larger soundstage, and much more pronounced bass. I guess this is my go to now!

This press beat out a VG+ UK 1st and the half speed master in my shoot out. UK was beautiful though.

I found this version to have significantly improved sound compared to the US 1st pressing, which was so compressed, edgy, grainy, etc etc
Sounds like our friends across the pond had a much better original pressing than the CRAPITOL in the US. The last songs on each side of the US orig - "Smile Away" & "Back Seat of My Car" are nearly unlistenable. -
I’d say my original tips the balance in sound quality. However, I’m very happy to own this for a variety of reasons. It’s still a great sounding record, beautiful tip-on heavy card cover. But of course, the second LP is full of brilliant music worthy sitting alongside Macca’s best post Beatles music. Highlight for me is the incredible, explosive, Rode all Night.

The 2012 Deluxe (https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/release/1361556-Paul-Linda-McCartney-Ram) has sibilance and isn't as forgiving to pop/crackle after a few listens compared to the 1971 pressing. This pressing is also nowhere near as dynamic as the 1971 pressing, which also plays significantly louder than especially this pressing. The additional songs are incredible and worth owning for the extra record. But comparing directly to the 1971 pressing I'd stick with the 1971 stereo pressing.

Edited 4 years agoThe sound is just great (I don't know the original pressing though - not yet!), the pressing clean, no noise, the records are not wavy or anything....

Edited 4 years agoA “decent” sounding remaster, and certainly comprehensive (it is convenient to have "Another Day", and it's flip-side both included together with the main album). The good news is that the new remastering is only a little compressed sounding when compared to the very open, raw, and colorful original 71' U.K. -1 release. Most of the depth and clarity has been left intact, and absolutely shows off this little epic that Paul and Linda have created—this “Acrchive” entry does not disappoint, with very warm and sturdy playback. In addition (or “in subtraction”, depending on how you look at it), there is zero need to go out and get yourself the new “Half-Speed Mastering” edition, it stinks.
"Ram" further solidifies that Paul was the most clever and adventurous of all the Beatles, musically speaking, regardless of what critics may have said upon it’s release, or even his old bandmates for that matter-“Ram” is his (and Linda’s) mini masterpiece. It starts to become very clear at this point in Paul’s solo career, away from his former band, that he had lost none of his zest for making music, nor any of his brilliant knack for melody, while at the same time, proving to be quite prolific by continuing the old “Beatles” breakneck release schedule of releasing a 7” single (not to be found on the main album), preceded by a full-length album (mixed both in Mono and Stereo formats mind you)....”Ram” is quintessential Paul McCartney. -
