Edited one year agoi live in the EU and have all of my US releases sent to a friend’s house where i pick them up once a year.
every record that was delivered between August and October has a dish warp regardless of who pressed/released it. my guess is the issue with the extreme heat happening all across the world (you know, that thing Michael Stipe has been warning us about since the mid-80s). unfortunately I just feel that this is going to become a norm in the industry unfortunately. That said, it’s not the record label’s fault.
As an aside, I’m also happy to be able to just flip this record over once, even though I’m going to hold onto my original, because I the day that I left work in the middle of my shift to buy it. -
Mine arrived warped as well. That's my first Craft Recording pressing that's been a mess. Emailed REM HQ. Hoping someone sees it an replies. Will update if I hear back.

Like Reveal this arrived very warped too. So much that it affects the music and is pretty much unplayable. Hope others were luckier than me with this one

Edited one year agoThis pressing, sounds pretty great. But where it shines is the look of the actual press itself. It is absolutely stunning.

I agree with the thefixer9 about the Jack Knife Lee production issue. There are some issues baked into the masters to be sure. I own the original pressing (2 LP at 45 rpm). Personally I love this pressing purely for the fact that I only have to flip it once, it's sweet to have continuity that you don't get with the original (where it's double vinyl at 45 rpm and 3 tracks per side). My pressing is beautiful and flat and a nice pressing. The black and white swirl is beautifully done.

Edited one year agoThis pressing is decent but not mind blowing. My copy was decently warped but it doesn’t appear to affect playback. The problem with the album is mainly the production so it’s not going to be the most dynamic sounding record no matter what pressing it is. But the color is great and more importantly the songs are killer.
I’m glad to finally own this album on vinyl along with the other reissues. Just waiting on the Up reissue and then I need to go back and get better copies of Fables, Pageant and Dead Letter Office.
