The Gold Experience is my 2nd fave Prince album. This album sounds amazing on vinyl!! Always loved the artwork to this album too. Absolute masterpiece.

I have mixed feelings about the reissue here, but it's mostly good!
I like that it's black vinyl and that they didn't cram too much music on each side (unlike the transparent gold Record Store Day release from 2022 with all those remixes crammed on side D).
The wax surface is flat in appearance and sounds mostly good. I think a better pressing plant/mastering job could've pulled more depth out of the wax but it sounds fine in most places. 1 or 2 tracks sound like they lack some top end / bottom end definition, but I'm being picket.
The sleeve art is the real issue. It's so blurry and almost looks like an enlargement the CD booklet. Even if the estate didn't have the original design files to send to the press, I'm sure they had the original photos (considering all the other released/unreleased photos they have access to). As a graphic designer, this would've been a fairly simple recreation in photoshop — get the original photos, do the text overlays and vector art. It would be cool if they just released it without any of the tacky typography/fonts — just the symbol and the photos, boom, instant impact. But... we all know a lot of these Prince album covers got tacky once Photoshop came along. I'll settle.
Overall I'm satisfied and can't really complain, just thinking of ways this could've been an A+ reissue instead of a B. :-)
