Best Prince album of the 21st century. Sexy smooth funky album right here. Vinyl sounds amazing. Beautiful gatefold. DON’T U WANNA COME…3121

Edited 9 months ago2nd Album Revolution #2:
After the FANTASTIC rebirth of "Prince" due to "Musicology", he went for it again with "3121"...
For what I , this was inspired by a Mansion that he rented in "Las Vegas"...With that being said, the album is sure fire "Prince" on a platter...
The "Title Track" THUMPS HARD with some help from old friends in "Michael B." on Drums, and "Sonny T." on Bass....
"Lolita" brings some Classic "NPG" vibes with the "New Power Generation" chants....
"Te Amo Corazon" (Spanish for, "I love you, sweet heart") is a smooth Jam, with help from new friends in, "Joshua Dunham" (Bass), "Cora Coleman Dunham" (Drums), also, "Herbert Ureña" and "Ricky Salas" (Percussion, Bongos, Congas & Timbales)....
The first Crown Jewel, "Black Sweat", THUMPS EXTREMELY HARD, even with just Drums and Keyboards (I accidentally left my Volume up when I got out of my Car one day, then I came back in with a enger, cranked my Car, and almost BLEW HIM AWAY!!!!)....
"Incense And Candles" and "Love" are straight up Dance Jams....
"Satisfied" follows the same pattern as "On The Couch" from "Musicology"....
The 2nd Crown Jewel, "Fury", ls labeled as its sounds, with FIERCE Guitars and Keyboards....
"The Word" expresses "Prince's" Love for "God's" word, "The Bible"....
"Beautiful, Loved And Blessed" (featuring then Protegee "Támar Davis"), is a beautiful, but "Funky" Jam, that's also kind of smooth.....
The 3rd Crown Jewel in, "The Dance", is improved on the original from "The Chocolate Invasion"...It is more Musical, and "Prince's" Vocals on this one brings TERRIFIC DRAMA...
The last song, and 4th Crown Jewel is "Get On The Boat" with help from The " Dunham's", tried and true friend, "Sheila E.", and a mess of Horns ("Candy Dulfer", "Greg Boyer", "Maceo Parker", and "Ray Montiero")....
This album is just a little, little bit better than "Musicology", even though at this point it didn't matter...By this time, "Prince" had reestablished himself as a Mega Star, and it was not about to slow down...He was more confident than ever before in the person he was, and people really started to enjoy learning more about his personality (and he became more approachable as well)....
With that being said, this being on Vinyl is a treat, and it has become a "Prince Classic" in its own right...... -
I sure hope the estate gives us "Super Deluxe" additions of "Prince", "Controversy", "Dirty Mind", "Around the world in a Day", and many others.
The Estate did a FANTASTIC job on the Super Deluxe editions of "Purple Rain", "1999", & "Sign 'o The Times"--the bonus material is stellar and every bit as good as the original album selections IMO. -
Nice to see these later albums making it onto vinyl, though I wonder if these albums were even good enough to be on the format.

This US release has ‘Made in the EU’ at the back-cover....but is different then the original cover of the EU release.
The text between the ‘Prince Estate’ logo and the ‘NPG Records’ logo is different in set-up.
It seems that the US release is misprinted as Made in the EU!
Most EU copies have a wrong sticker at the cover....the sticker for the ‘Musicology’ album! -
Edited 6 years agomy copy of 3121 has the correct sticker.
the packaging and sleeve design is sensational with lyric sheets (not polylined)
the pressing is very good - flat and noise free - I luv that it is not 180gm
SST have done a v good job in the mastering on this - its made the album sound a bit richer. My 2006 bootleg sounds like the cd - loud and a bit bright.
well done Sony and SST in producing a great release of 3121.
