The Gold Experience is the seventeenth studio album by American musician and songwriter Prince.

Originally 'Come' and 'the GOLD experience' should cover the transition from Prince to 'Love Symbol', but Warner released 'Come' immediately and The Gold Experience the next year.

The pronounced title (I hate you) is stylized as '[Eye symbol] hate U' on the releases. The title is often rendered as "Eye Hate U" by streaming services and other online resources, but the Discogs standard is to reflect the actual meaning of the title, which is why it's rendered as "I Hate U".

Not sure why there's been such a flurry of relatively affordable copies of this version lately, when even the last reissue was a few years ago now, but it's welcome all the same. Nabbed a copy and to be fair, it's absolutely one of the best-sounding versions to my ears (no frustrating staticky/glossy inners or blurry outer artwork, either). Ace.

It sounds terrible for the first time in my life I prefer CD version over vinyl. It sounds flat, dimmed and lifeless. I always buy old pressings because I heard many times they were made much better back then and oh boy it's that true. Inner sleeves are sticky I couldn't pull out the records out of them. Vinyls were dirty covered in some white stains, spots and dust. Edges of the vinyls are sharp. Big disappointment.

Poor QC: My copy ALSO has duplicate record twos. Seems shameful considering how often this has been mentioned on this Discogs page. Maybe employees are not feeling vested in the manufacturer? Be sure and buy where you can get returns accepted. Pay with a credit card. This is a somewhat risky vinyl to purchase.

I have a copy of the 2xLP gold vinyl promo release from 1995, but there is no number stamped on it. I bought it in late '95 or early '96 at an independent Boston record store that regularly sold promo releases. I have found no documentation of an un-numbered run of this release, nor a bootleg version. Does anyone know what I have here?
