Please people at discogs, stop the scammers/amateur sellers that are selling cheap reissues ing them for 1st pressing!

this is a great sounding record... hot cut with a very good sound stage and detailed clarity all around

This LP is cut super, super hot, so it's loud as fuck and very in-your-face. There's a lot of sibilance, but it's not really that distracting outside of a few instances (Brain Stew in particular is kind of a mess – if that's your jam, maybe skip this pressing). All of the instruments sound awesome – super punchy and biting. One thing about it that's interesting is that it doesn't really suffer from inner groove distortion, at least in my experience. 86 sounds great.

Having owned the 2021 anniversary edition and now this one, I think I prefer this one just by a bit. The 2021 is more polished, not as hot, and probably a more accurately "good sounding" record, sounding closer to a CD. This one though just has more punch and bite to it. It's a little rough around the edges, but it makes for a unique listening experience – one that I'd have to imagine is closer to being right there in the studio.

Gotta be honest, they did a phenomenal job on the 2009 reissue, it sounds nearly identical to this original. Luckily the 1st presses are still cheap, but if this ever spikes in price and you are concerned with sound quality and not just having a 1st press to have one, I can recommend the 2009 press.

I got a sealed copy of this pressing today. On first play, it has some pretty notable sibilance, but overall decent sound. Nothing to write home about, but not bad.
