The Pogues – Rum Sodomy & The Lash

Dusted this off... It is flat, next to no background noise, and IMO it sounds great (nothing is out of place or drowning out anything else) on my modest system...

There is a mastering error on track A5 which causes a tiny part of the song to be clipped. Not present on the CD or on the newer repress. For years I thought it was an invisible flaw in the vinyl of my copy, but I picked up a second copy and the same error is present.

Anyone else notice this?

Great pressing otherwise. I little more open sounding than the Rhino repress, but not much different really. Fun music. RIP Shane.

Beautiful sounding pressing! Just compared this to my old US original and it definitely blows the 85´ MCA press out of the water!

Great record that I bought when I was in college. I saw them live on the tour for this album. It was an incredible show. Rest in Peace Shane.

One of my favourite albums. This is a very nice repress, very quiet no crackling. The only thing I'd criticise is the slight lack of bass compared to my original (Italian) pressing. Other than that not bad at all.

Sounds fantastic and looks great. If you can find a good copy I highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant. The pogues at their very best. I asked a record store if they ever get any pogues in, and the guy scoffed. Found a couple pogues records for cheap in a box at a clothing store. Someone who ed on made my day

Whats the difference in the sounding of this compared to the 2015 pressing?

5+ out of 5. This sounds fantastic. The songs are great and it is recorded very well. Not sure if any other pressing of this record could sound as great as this. Get this one. Dirty Old Town is awesome.
