Compared to my original pressing, they've definitely shored up the bottom end for this release. But that's not to say it's a bad reissue - it's cut at the same volume, the mids and highs come through clear, possibly a bit clearer than the original. Wobble's bass is just not as impactful, especially on "Theme". Compared Side 1 only.
My copy is centered and flat Side 1, slightly off-centered (non-audible) and flat Side 2. Quite a bit of surface noise, but I haven't cleaned.
Mine didn't come with a large poster, a pair of stickers, or a card.
Original:

Matrix / Runout (Side B, variant 2): V-2114-B4 -
I'm going to wager it's my copy, but does anyone else experience a few moments of disjuncture on "Theme" where the track jumps slightly forward in the song? It's as if a millisecond of the track was omitted. There's no audible skip of the needle when this happens. I don't note it on the digital or the reissue vinyl.

I really enjoyed this release. Totally crazy rearranged First Issue with drums on acid! If you’ve had this (and maybe M. Box) since back in the days, you’ll like this version too. Thank you, PiL!

found a copy of the fab RSD alternate mixes album just after record store day weekend at the right price, as two days after it was released, it was retailing at silly prices on here and elsewhere. For me, it's a rediscovery of this album on vinyl as I was bought it for my 27th birthday. The alternative mixes certainly pack a punch, particularly Annalisa and the lowlife retake (the latter ends with a distorted noise which made me think the record was jumping!), a must-have for any early PiL fan. I hope next year they do the same with the Second issue as their is still some alternative demo/mixes of that album hovering about. -
So I just got this in the mail and gave it a spin. First of all thank goodness Rhino was behind this issue which means top pressing. Very punchy and loud. Excellent dynamics. I bought this as a teen in 1978 and have the original release. I was overjoyed upon hearing about this release for RSD. It was a joy listening to the USA trying to make sense with this album and their attempt to make a mix for the American audience. Obviously eliminating Religion 1&2 and inserting a couple of songs from Second Edition. Probably had no intention of releasing that if they had released this. I'm my opinion every PIL fan must own this. If only for the extended version of Annalisa! Although it is more like an EP than an LP it is very much worth it. Especially at the current low prices. I thought I was gonna have to battle flippers for this release. John's vocals sound so much more grittier on Theme and there are more details on Levine's guitar in certain song mixes. It is a bit annoying that Warner wanted to over use echo on John's vocals at times but it's only amusing because it was obvious Warner had no idea how to approach this album. Wobbles bass remains the same and thankfully still punchy. Overall it is a great solid release and a very welcome addition to any PIL collection. And one final comment. The lack of Walker's photo on the insert does not affect the sound of this record, nor does it diminish his contribution to it.

i think the last instrumental part of Annalisa is their version of Erik Satie. PIL in their early French, early 20th-century mood. -

Jah Wobble on Annalisa here just slays. Hilarious that ‘Punk’ is 1977-1978 and ‘post punk’ counts as 1979 to present. This album is a well head to so much that followed. Solid sounding pressing on heavy vinyl, happy to have this and the recent LITA version. -

Just listened to this record and i think this should be moved to make an individual release by P.I.L. and not a variant of the normal 1. LP.
Sure it is from the same basic tapes, but elsewhere the "Demo-LP" or the "Remix-after 40 years-LP" get a solitair place within discogs.
Annalisa is a totally different song after 2 Minutes, Religion is missing cause biggot 1979 America could not cope with the lyrics, just like today, i guess. All the other songs are audably different, some more, some just faintly. Even the cover uses another picture of John, something you only realize at the second glance.
Nice item!
