the boys go from singles craftsmen to album tinkerers, creating 6 top-to-bottom unmistakable gems! beats abound and snyth-basses aplenty.

the 2018 remaster packs more punch in the low-end, whether it improves on the original mix is probably down to personal preference. otherwise, this pressing is completely bs-free!

forgot to mention also, PLAY IT LOUD.

I got this album out again today, it’s nice to play. Proper 12” singles all lavishly produced, with the over-sized labels on the actual records, Chris with his ‘dog’ hat. I prefer the B-sides of all the discs and it’s nice to play the songs individually like this, each extended version, taking its time . . . Lovely.

PSB design is often praised, the minimalism, bold colours, plain, READABLE type, great photography, wit and style. Impressive. The design, as packaging “does its job”.

This triple disc Introspective is one of my favourite PSB packages – the whole thing and in every detail. Gorgeous colours and then the special discs, with plain, bright, die-cut sleeves. It’s very well thought out, extravagant. At the time, it was an exciting album to buy. In a way, it is better than the Vinyl Factory creations (because the music is 100% perfect, apart from Always on My mind . . . ).

Yes, I did keep my Introspective obi. I have mixed feelings about them, they are soooooo awkward to keep, but it seems wrong to throw them away.

one of the most enduring acts of the UK pop scene of their time. Very distinctive sound that manages to still sound fresh as well as nostalgic at the same time. Still going strong and a pair of excellent creative people

Like Disco v88 - Six tracks, all previously released by themselves or others (It's Alright maybe the Paninaro of '88)

I prefer the original "I Want A Dog" to the version here, the piano solo midway through, just doesn't seem right.

But their own version of "I'm Not Scared" is rather superb, and with "Left To My Own Devices" and their uplifting version of "It's Alright" onboard, it all comes across as more than proper in total.
