The Avalanches – Wildflower

Hmm...no pops or skips on mine. Sounds pretty clean to me. Maybe the pressing quality was somewhat random. But also note that the Avalanches sample a lot of surface noise as well. So sometimes that's just part the recording.

As for the music, I it I had to warm up to this one. Was a bit of a departure from their original release (in that this features guest vocalists) which probably what made me hesitant but by the time WWALY came around I was completely sold on it. Great, danceable, happy album. And Biz Markie is on it. So, yea. If Biz is on it it's going to be fun. I think the Avalanches have made a perfect triptych of albums thus far in their career.

Mine is good, DJ it to death and still sounds good, guess it's hit and miss looking at the comments....

Avoid this pressing! Many returns due to pressing plant issues including deep squiggly marks that cause popping. Get the 8 deluxe version or the vinyl me please red version. This version is very poor.

I got the usual little flakes of paper on the vinyl that come from paper inner sleeves, but I blew them off, and both discs played fine. I too was disappointed with no gatefold and no card, but the LPs really do sound great.

Listening to it on vinyl, broken up over four sides, has made me like it quite a bit more than the initial listens on Apple Music. I was ready to chalk this album up as a huge disappointment, but I like it a lot better now. I'll never like it as much as Since I Left You, but it's really pretty good. I digress a bit, but my main point is my copy plays and sounds fine. There may be some bad copies in the bunch, but mine's A-OK.

I must be lucky, my copy sounds pretty good on my Thorens. Not great, certainly, but no skips and few pops here and there. A little warp but it's very slight. Not off center. Some distortion from time to time, but overall I'd say 4/5 quality on my copy.

awful quality pressing. Disc 1 is chipped and pressed wayyy off center. The lead in almost is non existent. Shame on you Modular.

First and last record I buy from you.

Pretty shit quality control. Got a piece of vinyl hanging off the edge of disc one that causes a huge skip. Oodles of popping. Still don't know why the US was shortchanged with the deluxe edition.

Yeah, no card. Also on side 1 right now and a lot of pops and skips, fresh out of the plastic and first play. I'm so pissed.

No mp3 card with my copy. Anyone else in the same boat?
