Notes
The Stereo Remastered Album On Heavyweight 180g Vinyl
This issue wrongly credits "Mason, Waters" on the back cover as the songwriters for track A4 (should be "Mason, Wright"), though it is credited correctly on the record label. This mistake does not appear on the European 2016 issue which was released simultaneously: Pink Floyd - Soundtrack From The Film "More"

Edited one year agoSome albums from this 2016 series are above the average in of sound quality when compared to the other 2016s releases. Even if compared to the first pressings and original. This is album is a good example and as far as I know, Obscured by the Clouds and The Division Bell are another excellent sound quality releases and good examples IMO.

Just listened to this now...got it new...when it came out. Perfect...clean ...noise free...flat. The sound quality on this is very very nice. Although digital...from my understanding it is cut from hi res. Something other bands need to follow. At least hi res files retain the essence of the recording unlike cd or 24/44.1 files. Def a keeper. BTW the remaster is really nice on this album. It brings out all of the nuance.

Unbelievably awesome sounding LP. Clear as an unmuddied lake, with terrific bass as well. Mastered with both beauty and skill, as it's holographic sound floats out & envelops the listener, it is hard to believe this recording is 50 years old! The heavyweight pressing itself is flat as a pancake & features virtually dead-silent vinyl. Bravo gentlemen, bravo...

After having numerous copies of this which some sellers called NM. I've decided that the only way to have this is this new copy. It sounds great and the quiet bits of which there are many are quiet and not spoiled by crackles and pops. Of course, you might expect that of 40+ year old records but to hear it this good and quiet is the best way to enjoy it in my opinion.
Just a shame they didn't do a MONO pipers reissue. -

Edited 8 years agoSounds superb! An under rated Floyd masterpiece. The cleans are pristine sounding. Just beautiful.
