After comparing the sound quality of this variant against the MOV version I ended up selling this version. The Music On Vinyl edition sounds a lot better in my opinion!

Improperly balanced tonearms will cause mistracking. I have this issue and my copy has no skips whatsoever and sounds fantastic. I'm running an AT95E cartridge and needle with tracking force set to 2.5 grams. Tonearm is level with platter. I recommend checking your settings.

Edited 8 years agoPretty good this edition , especially recommended for those who missed the limited edition from " MOV " . I can compare both of these editions as I listened to both editions . Of course, both these books have different sound and certainly they have a different sound than the original edition, 1995 . Specifically in this edition more noticeable sounds "ccc..." . But the beats here are much clearer and seem to be juicier than the publication from " MOV " .
Regarding the complaints of the so-called "skipping "in this publication . I was lucky and my copy was the only one "skipping" at the beginning of the first track on side C ( Trife Life ) - but this problem was easily fixed - I just ran a reverse side "antistatic brush" and more I never heard any "skipping" on my copy .

I agree with timmyz1989. I have heavy skipping on numerous tracks. Survival of The Fittest being the heaviest. I thought maybe cleaning the discs would help (which it kinda did), but skipping is still a problem. Such a shame cuz these vinyls look amazing. I guess I can use em for display purposes.

Wasn't expecting the discs to be coloured when I bought this.
Everything seems good except the vocals on Eye for a Eye were hissing a lot on the s sounds. More so then I've ever noticed before, anyway. A lot of hiss and pop between tracks too. This is on the first play straight out of the cellophane wrapper.
Once the tracks start it sound very good though. Nice to hear those bass lines in all their glory. -
The only thing that concerned me when I listened to this press is that the end of Eye for a Eye plays for a brief moment before the Just Step Prelude. Other than that the rhymes are clear, the beats are heavy and the vinyls look beautiful, an all around great press.
