℗ 1986 CBS Inc.
Manufactured by Columbia Records/CBS Inc., 51 W. 52 Street, N.Y., N.Y.
Gatefold cover with printed inner sleeve.
Catalog number is printed as "FC 40238" on the jacket's spine and as "C 40238" on the disc labels.
This version can be identified by the runout grooves, which lack the Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) etching found on the other variation that has the same "FC 40238" catalog number printed on the jacket.
There is also another version with the catalog number BFC 40238 printed on the jacket.
Per Tim Neely of Goldmine:
"In the 1980s, there also were albums with three letters, usually "BFC"; these are early pressings of certain LPs that were released at a lower list price. If they became popular, they were re-released without the "B" (as "FC") with a revised bar code (usually adding an "02" to the number on the back) and a higher price."
Runout all etched. BBB arranged in a triangle.

Edited 6 years agoNice clean pressing but I feel like this one is begging for a modern remix/master with better overall balance - some tracks sound pretty thin to me in the low end, others are too loose and prominent. 7 out of 10 for me.

Edited 6 years agoOn top of the legendary music in this album, this pressing has a really good sound, an excellent mix with powerful bass and crisp treble. No surface noise nor sibilance. This is one of the LPs to really enjoy vinyl at its max.
