Catalog numbers: FC 40238 on the jacket spine, C 40238 on the labels, 40238 on the inner sleeve
Gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeve.
Per Tim Neely of Goldmine:
"In the 1980s, there also were albums with three letters, usually "BFC"; these are early pressings of certain LPs that were released at a lower list price. If they became popular, they were re-released without the "B" (as "FC") with a revised bar code (usually adding an "02" to the number on the back) and a higher price."

I stole this album on cassette from my sister in the late 80'. I wore it out.
This was my childhood right here..
Legendary album.. -
Anyone else have a cassette that has Girls as the 2nd to last track on the J Card? Was that a common misprint?

Just listened to this today for the first time in years and it was even better than I . The production is exceptional and a bit ahead of its time. It does remind me of 'Paul's Boutique', not as many samples but with different types of drums per song. It kind of marks the transition from the 'def beat' era to the 'golden age'.

In the dead space side A states “Get Off My Back 666” & “Masterdisk DMM” side B states “16 Watch Your Back”
Anyone know the meaning/history? -
I liked this one. I buying this for my grandson a few years back. A couple days ago he gave me this cd and told me to listen to it. I liked it. My grandchildren are always trying to expose me to new music. I give this one a 3/5

Edited 5 years agoSuch a fine, rap album. But I often wonder when I listen to it, were MCA, Mike D and Adrock able to retire to bed and get some much needed sleep when they finally arrived home in Brooklyn?

I have a cbs inc 1986 vinyl DEF 450062 with matrix side A: 0I-450062-IA-I and barcode 5 099745 006212. Can you help me understand what version it is?

We need a proper deluxe edition soon, with all the b-sides and remixes and other Def Jam singles like Rock Hard and She's On It, with a nice blu-ray with the videos and TV appearances on it. It's long overdue, but if they can do a 30th anniversary vinyl then surely they can do a deluxe edition?
