A couple of good songs and that's all. Not a fan ot the genre, more like an outsider. No more words needed.

Edited one year agoQuite simply one of the best J-Pop LPs of the mid-80's, even by the comparatively high standards of Momoko's recorded output. It's a shame she made a break from her idol-status after just a handful of records, as this is just the sort of Japanese pop songcraft that I tend to flock to. Her records excel at forging a sort of atmosphere of twilit romanticism that happened to be a common motif in Japanese pop back in the '80s and '90s, though even amidst the flock of similar recordings from the period hers certainly stand out.
'Adventure' is set apart from 1984's 'Ocean Side' and 1985's 'Tropic of Capricorn' primarily by the consistency of the material within, managing to best the frequent heights reached by both predecessors. Aside from that, you can expect to find the same charming mix of languid tropicalia, nocturnally toned romanticism and Japanese Idol pop as featured in her prior records. Anyone happening to visit this page should know what to expect. I'm simply here to drive home the point that this record is very possibly her best long player. -
A new version with OBI is releasing in Japan soon. This is by far one of the best city pop albums I have. I won't go as far as to say it's a hidden gem, cause many know how great it is. But it's usually not one of the first discovered I'd say. Definitely grab one at MSRP. :) Just fantastic album all way till the end and definitely one of my most played in the genre.

Got one 1986 Japanese copy for just 50$.
Sounds really amazing even it's almost 40 years ago. Momoko's voice makes me miss a place I've never been to, a time I've never lived.
10/10 for a city pop album. -
With this album, Mr. Hayashi established himself as one of the best kayōkyoku composers. Also made Momoko Kikuchi's voice shine, despite being an extremely soft voice. Another voice couldn't have gone better with the album.

Did everyone else get a blue record? I know this was d as purple on the Ship to Shore PhoneCo and Light in the Attic websites, so just curious if all pre-orders ended up being blue.
-
Top tier cover, polished but highly derivative music. Compare Track 1 with George Martin's Pepperland to see what I mean.

Once the sun goes down and the light starts illuminating Tokyo, it is time to forget the summer heat and enjoy the night cruise with Momoko Kikuchi...
