Can anyone comment on how this VMP pressing sounds? Words

A couple of good songs and that's all. Not a fan ot the genre, more like an outsider. No more words needed.

Very mediocre sounding. It was ok on an entry level system, but going up the ladder in audio gear, the weaknesses clearly show.

It sounds rather muffled, like there's a slight blanket over the music. Also, not a great deal of dynamics.

This album already has kind of a melancholic sound to which these two flaws do not contribute at all. Rather, they lead to a more boring, even sometimes sleepy sound.

Pressing quality is okish. There is some very audible surface noise especially at the beginning of each side.

I guess an ok pressing, if you just want to listen to this on vinyl. But they could have done a much better job imho

For those wondering, this does not come with a poster.

My 2023 repress did not include the poster, despite the hype sticker promising it. Buyer beware I guess!

Quite simply one of the best J-Pop LPs of the mid-80's, even by the comparatively high standards of Momoko's recorded output. It's a shame she made a break from her idol-status after just a handful of records, as this is just the sort of Japanese pop songcraft that I tend to flock to. Her records excel at forging a sort of atmosphere of twilit romanticism that happened to be a common motif in Japanese pop back in the '80s and '90s, though even amidst the flock of similar recordings from the period hers certainly stand out.

'Adventure' is set apart from 1984's 'Ocean Side' and 1985's 'Tropic of Capricorn' primarily by the consistency of the material within, managing to best the frequent heights reached by both predecessors. Aside from that, you can expect to find the same charming mix of languid tropicalia, nocturnally toned romanticism and Japanese Idol pop as featured in her prior records. Anyone happening to visit this page should know what to expect. I'm simply here to drive home the point that this record is very possibly her best long player.

No poster with my copy, although sticker indicates there should be one. Anyone else have this version w/ a poster?

Phenomenal quality all around. Heavy sleeve, great reproduction of the original obi and insert, and the pink vinyl is gorgeous. Better yet, the record sounds fantastic. A/B'd it with my Ship to Shore/Light in the Attic pressing and this is louder, cleaner, and has greater clarity and presence, which is impressive because the LITA press already sounded great. Really fantastic sounding LP, glad it got this pressing.

A new version with OBI is releasing in Japan soon. This is by far one of the best city pop albums I have. I won't go as far as to say it's a hidden gem, cause many know how great it is. But it's usually not one of the first discovered I'd say. Definitely grab one at MSRP. :) Just fantastic album all way till the end and definitely one of my most played in the genre.
