I am wondering if new attention is being attracted to this album because of MF Doom using the tracks for a collaboration album. Doom is always great to hear but he sounds perfect over this kind of music - a blend I could not have predicted.

This vinyl pressing is really good, but I'm a bit conflicted about it. The highs and lows are all well-balanced, and the sound is powerful, but it feels like the sound pressure is just way too high. The mastering itself is good, but cut this hot, it probably caused skipping issues on some setups. Honestly, I think Victor really pushed the cutting way too far. -

I see people said this pressing sounds thin. I mean, if you got to vintage deck+carts (LP12, Shure V15) it just sounds perfectly right and warm.

I Morning Glory being a tad bit quieter on this OG pressing. Lucky I snagged this for around $90 back in 2019 before the prices on his albums skyrocketed. It's not Ride on Time you guys, cut it out.

Edited one year agoTatsuro's career peak. However it's not his best release, a tad overrated in my opinion. Yet, it's loaded with bangers like Sparkle (heavily inspired by Niteflyte's If You Want It), Music Book, Loveland Island and more. I agree that Hey Reporter feels out of place, replace it with あまく危険な香り (only available in single) would be so much better.
The mastering was very hot as well, a big challenge for any systems to track it properly without distortion/sibilance. With a proper system it sounds great. Sounds big, rich, and dynamic. If you prefer a very clean, lean, airy sound, choose CD.

Comments regarding the quality of the pressing appear to be buried by reviews praising the album (and to be clear, the album is amazing regardless of pressing or format), but holy cow - this is Steely Dan levels of audiophile goodness. You could sell stereos with this thing. Cannot recommend this specific pressing enough. -
