The majority of the material on this album was written as a result of group improvisations. There were no pre-rehearsals; the improvisation took place in the recording studio and much of the finished work contains original elements of those initial performances.
Recorded between September 1989 and April 1990 at Miraval Studios, Le Val, ; Condulmer Studio, Zerman di Mogliano, Italy; Marcus Studios, London; Air Studios, London; The Wool Hall, Bath; Ropewalk Studio, Dublin; Mega Studios, Paris, ; Eel Pie Studios, London. Mixed at Olympic Studios, London. Tracks A3, B1, B2 & B6 mixed at Eel Pie Studios, London. Cut at The Townhouse.
This is the European release. The inner picture sleeve is made of thin matt paper.
The UK version however uses thick glossy paper.
This European vinyl uses the White Virgin logo branding whereas the UK Version uses an image from the front of the sleeve.

I've bought this one in several issues, including the extremely nice japanese exclusive box-set with extra postcards. That was the worst in sounduality as usual. Being an audiophile-enthusiast, I only kept the standard UK CD-version. The remaster-serie was even much worse. The top-end precision has totally disappeared (as usual with the remaster releases). AVOID the remasters! Those are incredibly badly manufactured products (as usual). The very uninteresting bonus track "I drink to forget" is no consolation for the distorted soundquality. I've NEVER came across with a single contra-example among any remastered edition vs "originals". Never. The bonus track appears on the R.T.C. only single "Blackwater" anyway.
