It’s time we all sat in a circle and discussed why Time Machine is the most under rated Ride track of all time.

Why is it so neglected? Why does it never make the set list? Why does no one talk about it? Am I the only one? Does anyone else care?

This is a question, not a review: is there any vinyl version of this album with Grasshopper? I don't think so, but just to confirm with the experts on Ride.

A very good but not great album. "Going Blank Again" suffers once you hear the title track...which was left off the album.

The music, the lyrics, the arrangement, the performance...it's better than any track on the album.

        What were they thinking?

Reminds me of when Morrissey tried to get "There Is A Light..." pulled from "The Queen Is Dead." Presumably it would have been relegated to a b-side. Everyone else said "No way we're cutting that track," and Morrissey was eventually forced to eat his words.

Would that Ride met the same fate.

From here on out it was a slide into mediocrity.

But at least "GBA" demonstrates that they had more than one good record in them.

I think the original mock-ups had the 4 bonus EP tracks (including the wonderful Stampede) on vinyl. That's a bit disappointing they're only on the card. Oh well, still a great album.

Reissues of this, the 4 EP's as one double vinyl and Nowhere up for preorder now on the official Ride store! Get busy, the 2015 one was gone in a blink.

I am listening to an original US CD pressing of this tonight and it sounds amazing. I am sure the vinyl sounds great but don't sleep on the original CDs if you are looking for great sound at a reasonable cost.

The Cd "Going blank Again" is better on Creation press or Sire Press?
                  Thank you

I’d forgotten all this guitar music was on here, so entrenched I am now in electronic music. Before I discovered house this album shaped my teenage years. Creation records was The Label 🙌

My favourite track was always Time Machine - barely a mention and never to make it onto a set list back in the day... I loved OX4 too, Leave them all behind, twisterella, chrome waves, time of her time and cool your boots too. It sounded melancholy and nostalgic before I knew what that even meant. A great poppy fuzzy follow up full of feeling after their debut Nowhere.

Carnival of Sh@te was a disappointing Rolling Stones homage but that was academic - all the flipsy fopsy daisy of Birdman was blown off stage by some obscure band called Oasis. The musical landscape had changed by the time of Tarantula’s release which did little other than document their fractious relationship, and sounded the death nell for twenty years. By which time I’d discovered the joys of house music. But it’s good to see them back and I look forward to seeing how they move forward.
