Notes
This official re-release of the 1991 single, despite the similar sleeve/artwork with the original 12" Goodbye Horses, it has completely different tracks included.
The new 2025 extended version included in this one was newly mixed from the original stems by Alberto Hernandez at Fantasy Studios and differs from the original 1991 "extended version" of the Goodbye Horses 12".
This new mix is the original video mix or extended mix from 1988.

Edited 28 days agoI finally got my copy and it sounds great. After being burned in the past by reissues that were just lower quality versions of the Married to the Mob OST edit I was skeptical but I think I actually prefer this version to the famous extended mix. I didn't realize it was cut at 45 when I bought it - turns out this might be the second best 45-on-33 record I've ever listened to. It sounds amazing that way, almost like that's how was supposed to be heard. The best is "Some Kazoos" by the Temple City Kazoo Orchesra, Rhino RNEP 501. If you've never heard their cover of Stayin' Alive slowed down to 33 you haven't really lived. Makes Sunn0))) sound like Bon Jovi - heaviest thing I've ever heard. But I digress.
Unfortunately the B side is pressed off center - not enough to be unplayable but enough that it's easy to see when it's spinning. I'd say 2-3mm. Otherwise this would be an easy 5 stars. -
Echoing the disappointment of others, this is not the "Extended Mix" you were probably seeking. The vinyl itself sounds good, and I guess something is better than nothing, but this does feel disingenuous calling it the "official re-release of the 1991 single" while reusing the same cover art and not the actual track everyone was scrambling to obtain.

Edited one month agoDon’t listen to Balkans_Vinyl comment below : this is as definitive an extended version as you wish for as a DJ - instrumental and accapella for doubles play, and better to mix with, as the chorus doesn’t come in early ahead of the vocal. Buy doubles so you can really use your skills - which Balkan’s clearly doesn’t have .

Another embarrassing debacle. Not the extended mix everyone is searching for. They simply named a new version 'extended mix'. I asked the label about this and genuinely, LOL ours is better was the reply. Disingenuous to the point of fraud.

Unfortunately this extended mix is not the 1988 one which was on the expensive!! (why??) album and in full lenght on Clerks II album. So you still have to search it when you want it and not this slightly different one.

Changes or not it's always good to have another version out there. Maybe some day I'll own enough different reissues that I can sell all of them and pay for a poor condition original...
