Funny detail seems to be that the 2025 has a slight different original extended than this one. And this track is only available on this expensive!!! (why??) record and Clerks II album.

Edited one year agoI kinda hate that we never got a proper CD Single of this, which means it's even more hard to find clean rips of it. Like, it was 1991. CD versions of single releases were commonplace by then, even on some smaller labels, which was probably already becoming cheaper to manufacture than vinyl. WHAT GIVES?!

Why is this (and the 7") so rare when it clearly states on the rear cover "From the movie Silence of the Lambs"?
Surely they should have pressed at least 5000 12" & 10,000 7" with a such a blockbuster movie tie-in? Let alone no CD / Cassette issues.
Very odd. This could have been a top 10 (maybe even number 1) UK hit if it was marketed better. Don't forget this was the era of Shakespears Sister, that dark gothic sound. The public would have loved it! -

I reckon the inclusion of this track on 'silence of the lambs' was a stroke of genius by whoever it was that made that decision.it brings out a darkness that may not have been fully recognised otherwise.it sounds so sinister and twisted in that context, yet I have listened to it a hundred times when out and about and it is quite beautiful really.

Also available on the married to the mob soundtrack, that's what I have. Killer track. Crowd pleaser.

Edited 9 years agoIt is difficult to express in words the greatness of Goodbye Horses but I will try. White Lines is the second song on the album , very good song but with different atmosphere . William Garvey was the producer and the writer of Goodbye Horses.
Goodbye Horses:
The atmosphere of the song connected so perfectly to the movie The Silence of the Lambs ,
The electronic sounds, the drumming rhythm and the Magnificent singing voice of the mysterious Q. Lazzarus create Dark Beauty and Hypnotic atmosphere, It's easy to become addicted to the song.
It's unbelievable that a singer who performs a song so perfectly just vanished , Just think of an entire Q. Lazzarus album with the same style of Goodbye Horses.
I bought the CD Various – Zwischenfall - From The 80's To The 90's Vol. 2 (1996) so I can listen to Goodbye Horses on official cd , the cd collection includes the 4:20 version (7" Version).
