While this is not the most silent pressing in the world, the music will always stand out and it still sounds great. The blue is definitely a vibe but that’s pretty much the only reason to choose this pressing over any other. 4.5/5

This reissue isn't bad, but my 2016 EU 1 LP (half-speed, cut by Matt @ Alchemy) was the clear winner in an audio shoot-out (AT VM540ML). This one was a little noisy (mostly on Side A), and the soundstage seemed a tad confined in comparison... the 2016 had more presence and was more dynamic to my ears.

Can't believe they did this as a single LP! Especially when the 2016 release was a 2LP @ 45rpm. But then again, the latter was pressed in Europe. UK releases seem to always sound better than U.S. releases in my experience. Seems like more care is put into them.
I want to buy this, but am a little apprehensive, with all the mentions of surface noise. -
Edited 7 months agoFor those wondering about the sibilance, I just did a comparison of "Sledgehammer" on this record and my 1986 club OG. To me this version still sounds bright but it's definitely not as harsh/abrasive as the OG. Still might have to dial back the highs a bit. But regardless, this is a very full-sounding record and not super noisy either.

Sounds pretty! Maybe not dead quiet but minimal surface noise. I have a first press and this one only though, so not much to go off of. I enjoyed my listen. I ♡ Peter Gabriel

I agree with Josephjrose , this pressing sounds amazing.
I would love an expanded edition though. There was an expanded CD with a bonus concert in Athens 🇬🇷. PG may be a purist - this is the first time he's allowed a color vinyl, if we forget the 2010 clear box set that simply spread the same 11 tracks across four sides 🤔. -
Would someone who has this release please add your runout matrices to this listing? I'd really like to know who cut the lacquers and where it was pressed.

This album should be released in surround at this point. It would work incredibly well and actually give a reason to purchase it instead of reissuing the same master.
