Listening to this version, it's clear that some limiting/compression was applied, even though the booklet claims that the original dynamic range was not altered. There are better versions of this album, including the Doug Sax remaster from Analogue Productions SACD; the Bernie Grundman remaster from 1999 is also great and despite it uses some compression, it is applied tastefully on the '99 remaster; the 50th Anniversary sounds great as well and uses the Plangent Process; the 2012 remaster from HDtracks on The Complete Studio Albums is excellent too.
During the time that Audio Fidelity released this reissue there were several quality control problems on many of their releases. There definitely should have been a supervisor for these reissues.
