Nowhere as good, in every respect, as the now impossible to get Japanese single layer 7" mini LP version. I damage my Mini-LP version and bought this one because It was all that was out there.
Sounds like FM radio VS the BIG -OPEN sound of the Japanese release. Better than nothing but not by a whole lot..... -
Well, I picked this up recently and hardly find it muddy. Very complex tracks come through detailed and well-balanced on the SACD layer. It has just the right amount of punch with crisp highs. Natural sounding drums and vocals. Soundstage is wide and enveloping esp at the end of the title track. I'm not universally a fan of Hoffman mastered titles, but this one is definitely in the excellent bucket. Highly recommended for the original stereo mix.

funny, I find this version to be super muddy...like a veil is placed on my speakers. The 'High Vibration' version is far far superior to these ears!

Of all CTTE editions I have (original LP, early CD issue, remastered CD, bluray and so on) this is without question the best sounding stereo mastering. A tricky record to master I guess with its thick wall of sound, but here you can tell a difference already on the first bass sounds, the bass is clear, you can actually hear the strings and not just the humming. Midrange fine as well as treble. This is as naturally sounding as this recording can be, I imagine.
