I agree with the comment below completely concerning this remaster's stunning quality, this disc will for anyone with decent digital transport and DAC kit and comparable things downstream represent on listen a revelation. Begging the question, what if Jim Morrison had lived many more years and they'd all kept this up. The music holds up incredibly well, all these years later. What a tragedy, he was in his 20's! On the other hand, it was in Paris that the died. Talk about eerie. Genius, poor and simple.

This version has a lot of distortion throughout that other versions don't have (like in the intro of Back Door Man--you can hear distortion in the right channel). Not sure why it gets so much praise.

Next level. Just like with the mono Pet Sounds from DCC. Every other release of this album (before OR after!) just doesn't compare, I mean it's not even close. To the point where you wonder how he even did this. A+

I had heard and read a lot about this DCC release. Seeing that the vinyl will cost more than $200 I sprung for the CD and was not disappointed. I also own several other editions to include the Perceptions box set, original Monarch and Allentown stereo and mono releases and the Analogue Productions 45 along with the newer Bernie Grundman releases (CD and vinyl). The clarity and bass on this one sures all of them. Steve Hoffman did a wonderful job and I think having the master tapes separates this one from all but the originals.

I just felt obligated as I’m almost confused as to why there are no other reviews of this amazing Steve Hoffman mastered DCC gold disc!! I own original pressings, the Analogue Productions 45rpm, and various other DVD Audio, CD versions. This is an insanely incredible disc and certainly has to be the best digital version available. Mind-blowing and stunning in every aspect!!!! AAA+++

The ONLY better version of this is a DCC vinyl re-issue , as simple as that !
