Só much better than the TRANSM232LP version (https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/release/20882608-Porcupine-Tree-In-Absentia). Thát one had a lot less dynamics than the cd version (the original, haven't heard the remastered cd), thís one doesn't even need to be A-B'd. A clear winner :-)

A bit late to the party... I just got around doing a proper A/B between this release and 2018's remaster. Like the comment below, I agree this one is a bit better, in of clarity. The sound is more natural and precise, especially in the bass department. YMMV of course.
