The reproduction of the cover is perfect, all the details are sharp. There are problems with the sound, it is too quiet. You have to turn up the volume of the amplifier to the maximum to listen to the album normally. In any case, at the moment this is the only quality reissue of this album. It would be great to see BG or KG versions.

This is a terrible sounding copy of this album. I originally got my copy in 2022 and noticed the first time I listened to it that it was subpar sounding.
Who cut and who mastered this copy from this entry? How does an original first pressing of this album sound? Is this just a bad job done on this reissue or was the original kind of a low fidelity sounding copy also?
I love the songs and the music from this album. Child in Time is one of my all-time favorite Deep Purple songs. But there is distortion in parts of this reissue as well as Ian's voice seems to be covered by instruments and low in the mix throughout the album. I know it's a stereo copy but it almost has a mono type of sound to it. It doesn't seem like a lot of work was put into making this reissue. And that's a shame!
Not having any original pressings or tapes or even CDs of this album, can anybody recommend an LP version that does sound really great? I'd appreciate it and I definitely would wind up getting it providing the price isn't through the roof.
As I mentioned in the beginning, I got this copy of my reissued LP in 2022. Right off the bat it sounded like a poor production copy. I tried listening to it again later that same year but stopped before I even finished it. I'm listening to it again today and halfway hoping it might sound better. But it doesn't. It's not a recording that I can't listen to. The distortion and subpar sound/mix doesn't hurt my ears or anything like that. It's just that it doesn't sound remotely as good as I think it should or could sound and I really want to find a copy that I can rock out on and enjoy. So any recommendations of a copy that sounds great would really be appreciated!

My father has the Spanish original run. This sounds definitely better. Not as good as the 1995 CD reissue with extras, but definitely warmer. I noticed Speed King a bit more saturated, but it is close to the original. Other than that vinyl is quiet and flat. Love the songs on this album.

Edited 4 years agoMini review: This pressing, atleast my copy has quite a lot of distortion(The bad kind) , especially on speed king. I have 2 setups: one vintage and one new. Same distortion on both. Nothing like it on other records
