Poor pressing. Lots of surface noise on my red copy.

No surface noise with my red copy. The depth of bass is good and solid. Nice clear copy.

I like this album, I like the packaging, but... I'm not happy with the LP sound at all. At least, with the red one (I haven't heard any other editions). Lack of dynamics. Lack of low mids. Seems like mastering specialists were so obsessed with the idea to play it safe that they cut too many frequencies. Digital edition (even lossy streaming one!) wins LP flawlessly on this particular album.

Here we find the Euro star on the Future Bites which is certainly a better title than the Future Sucks. Steven dives into a synth pop theme in his ever changing musical shifting style. I've liked just about everything he creates be it Porcupine Tree (which I love), his solo stuff and Blackfield. And hey, I'm along for the ride on this one too. Yeah its different but I love the theme, I like his voice, he's a great song writer and an underrated guitarist. He always seems to create something new and different with his solo efforts which is refreshing. My vinyl copy plays fine but it seems today there are far too many quality issues with all the vinyl being pressed. Must be poor quality control in the rush to release stuff.

This new release of SW is such a great step backward but in another way a step forward. Lots of electronic styles included (like his other side solo projects), and quite a lot of so-called "Pop-Music" in a sophisticated style, but a typical SW record soundwise.
The red vinyl sounds on my different record players pretty rich and dynamically full. Here and there little klicks, but none of 'em annoying the sound and joy of listening. The cover and booklet ist perfect for me due to my weak eyesight. I think, this one will become a favorite in the next few weeks.

Maybe someone can confirm this. But for me the white pressing sounds considerably better with less surface noise.
It could also be hit and miss with both of course.

Great package overall. But I really don't understand why such a great package comes with such a crappy inner sleeve.
And this is not an exception.

Side B of my copy is pressed off center, enough that I notice the pitch varying - especially during 'Count of Unease.'

Fantastic packaging which really immerses you into the concept of the record. The pressing itself is clean, flat, and silent. The red variant is extraordinary as well and looks incredible with the sleeve. This album will certainly be divisive and it’s important to keep an open mind. If you can do that then you’ll be in for a rewarding experience. Additionally, this is Steven’s best production to date. Wow!

What a great packaging! The vinyl itself is clean and flat, the cover comes in a nice slipcase, plus you get a big booklet that really ads to the concept and the experience. That is how it is supposed to be done!
