Commercially seen the best album from Peter Gabriel so far.

About the Country of this release. Here on Discogs it states "Europe" (because of distribution details), however on the end of the rimtext of the CD it states "MANUFACTURED IN THE UK" and on the lower left of the back cover art it states "Manufactured in the UK". There was a lot of discussion about this but maybe this addition helps to clarify.

As far as i know this is the only release with the text printed in blue on the CD.

This was my very first CD that I purchased back in 1986! Peter Gabriel's "So" album is a Masterpiece!

The Daniel Lanois produced album took Peter Gabriel from a well-respected art rock artist into the main stream. One may argue that MTV played a large role but nearly thirty years later without all the gimmicky videos, 'So' remains easily the best album of 1986 from when the needle drops until the end.

Peter Gabriels first and third albums are his best- this one is good, but with zero edge. It's all elevator music with some good bits thrown in; generic garbage lyrics in many of the songs but that's common of Peter Gabriel- he worries about the track and the voice but not the words it seems. Big Time is the worst song on this album; it's literally uninspired garbage anybody could have written. That Voice Again and Your Eyes are just as good as his earlier work minus the edge- In Your Eyes has the best lyrics of any Peter Gabriel song I think "the grand facade so soon will burn", etc.
