Opiate is a good start for this great band, I bet this original pressing will increase in value.

Well, it sounds much better than the Lateralus picture disk. Terrible edge quality though, mine is missing a chunk on the edge (does not affect the tracks) and the rest of the edge is knife sharp. Dirtiest album I’ve seen and I had to cut out the excess vinyl pressed into the center hole. I understand why it is $5.

Once the re-issue comes out the price of this pressing will likely go through the roof. Get it now while you can.

Does this pressing have "The Gaping Lotus Experience" as a secret track? The following is written in the discogs notes for some other pressings of this EP:

"*Track B1 is double-cut with "The Gaping Lotus Experience." When one track is playing, bump the needle over to play the other. That's why the track looks like it's 7 minutes."

Great pressing, almost completely silent and crystal clear sound. This being Tools debut EP, they have less of a polished and refined sound than they do in their later albums, but it's still a must-listen for any Tool fan. Its hard, fast, and Adam Jones lays down some excellent heavy riffs throughout. You can definitely pick up on a bit of a punk influence in Hush, and the beginnings of Tool's signature themes and MJK's poetic style is evident throughout the album. Although the outer sleeve is a bit thin and the shrink wrap was a bit overly tight (at least on my copy), and the inner sleeve is just a generic white paper sleeve, the quality of the pressing was fantastic and the musical content equally so. Solid 9.5/10
