Edited one year agoPicked up a decent secondhand (NM) copy and it's pretty hard to listen to. Very muffled in the low end - seems like everything has been dumped through the woofer. Don't think it's the pressing more likely the mastering/recording. The YouTube version is also naff but it's Ian Brown and if anyone has seen/heard him live then all is forgiven. UPDATE. I never adjust my tone knobs but after a drop in bass and turned the treble up amnd volume and It's OK. A little dirty but vocals are there

Seems to be some mixed feelings on the quality of this pressing. For what it's worth, on my copy "My Star" sounded quite distorted (as others have mentioned), it was horrible to listen to, but after that I feel that everything sounded pretty good to my ears. For £11.49 off Amazon, it's a pretty good bargain.

Sounds epic...all the range is there to be heard and deep bass coming through clear - no issues with any pops or excessive surface noise, my copy is a super quite pressing.
I realise this isn't always the case but apart from the slightest of edge warp to vinyl A/B and I'm being hyper critical here, this is as good as it could be 🪖 -
Bought this today. How anyone can diss this pressing is beyond me. I have hearing aids that are adjustable to music, and this pressing is 10/10. Perfect. I don't know why or how you guys are getting bad pressings. Clean the bloody record before you first play it and change your stylus. Simple

An indie legend deserves better as well as the fans. This is the worst pressing I've ever heard, how recordings can be made to this standard in the 21st century is baffling. Full of distortion and sibilance.

One of the worst, most disappointing LPs in my collection. Lots of distortion - especially on My Star and Golden Gaze, which suffers from some of the worst IGD I've heard.
