Such a fantastic pressing and setlist. Absolutely rocks - upbeat, energetic, and the covers are awesome. Crisp and punchy. Favorite Isbell album I own. So glad I splurged on this one.

Finally got my hands on one of these and very thankful. I have the digital version, but this vinyl is so fun, such a perfect RSD release. Only gripe is as below, poor pressing. I do not have much surface noise at all actually, but it's pressed off center which you can hear at times, but not overly bothersome.

Looks like this is getting a broader reissue. Glad people who missed out the first time can finally get to listen.

I just upgraded my cartridge, but I am hearing a lot of surface noise now. The music is still awesome, but there is a fair amount of unwanted noise, especially on the first side. Anyone else noticing this?

If anyone is still looking for a copy of this, I've just ordered and received a copy from a Danish record shop called Moby Disc - £24 inc. delivery.

This is *exactly* what a Record Store Day release should be. Looking back at my haul for RSD 2017, ‘Welcome To 1979’ is by far the best record I bought. My only complaint is that it is not longer. The best thing that could have ever happened to him (other than his wife and daughter) was Patterson Hood kicking him out of DBT. He was on the proverbial highway to hell and he may very well have ended up dead as a result. His arrangements are beautiful, and because he subscribes to the “less-is-more” school of producing, Jason has the ability to cut through all the BS and get right to heart of whatever song he’s singing, be it his own material, or a cover. This is a record that belongs in any rock fans collection. I was lucky enough to get two copies; one I ripped to cd, the other remains unopened.

Incredible album. This release is what RSD should be about! If I could buy stock in an album, I'd be buying plenty of shares here. The more people hear it, the louder the buzz is going to be for this album. A true gem!
