Aphex Twin – Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt2 (EP)

Very interesting work from Aphex Twin.
My brand new record has a lot of really bad and loud cracklings on B1 and Few loud cracklings on the other tracks from B-side. It does not sound like groove wear, but more like digital distortion. Did someone experience it too ?

Edit : As read on another comment, my record has some sharp bumps or so, this is a pressing issue. Very sad, B1 is not playable.

A great EP at 33rpm: An entirely different beast at 45rpm (Wow!). The piano really packs a real punch on vinyl, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this record sounds.

Never really understood this one until I played it at 45rpm. At 33rpm it's still good but got a little boring after a while. It all makes sense at 45; took it from good to amazing.

Getting bad distortion during the piano rolls on Piano Un1 Arpej. Checked my setup and doesn't seem to be part of the problem. Anybody else have the same?

Sounds great, love the touch of being able to enjoy at either 33 or 45rpm. My only issue is that I couldn't figure out which side was which at first and ended up listening to it B to A because of how hard it is to read.

love the minimalism of the cover and label, love the natural sound of acoustic instruments with aphex twin rhythms, love everything about this little ep 10/10

I recommend listening at 45 rpm. The music immediately makes sense and the sound is much better.

Surely must originally have been intended for 45rpm, the CD being put out at 33rpm an impish move. He's also making the point that with music, anything goes - it's up to the listener. I always thought 'Every Day' was a 33rpm tune, and one of my favourites at that. Only 25 years later did I find it online and realise that 45rpm seemed to be the intended speed but I still can't bring myself to listen to it at the 'correct' speed, as I'm too invested in the 'mistake' I made years ago
