Had this pressing for a while now - it's good quality! Kind of surreal to hear this in such an analogue format but it does shine. The mixing is quite good here, I was impressed with the dynamics. Worth picking up for sure.

absolutely silent, no crackles or pops. i also love the feel of 180 gram vinyl, so definitely a favorite in my collection ❤️

Sounds pretty good to me, not perfect but good. Some tracks sound distorted but I think that's just the production. A guide to ing which side is which for anyone who needs it:
Side one: the album title. the large I in "I Care Because You Do" looks like the roman numeral for 1
Side two: Part of the face on the cover. There are 2 nostrils on the nose of the face
Side three: this is a barcode. The third number from starting on the far right of the barcode number is a 3
Side four: this lists each side and the tracks on it. There are 4 sides
The cover of this album is your face when you follow this guide and master the knowledge of which side is which (you are now happy) -
Kind of thin-sounding a lot of the time. Definitely comes into semblance more in the middle of the groove, but loses its footing at the edges (where Alberto Balsalm is held, no less)

Great pressing for a great album, it's not a remastered version just a reissue on 180g vinyl. If you clean the records before listening with distilled water and add a stabilizer, the sound is to die for.
-
I did a sound comparison of this official Warp repress with my original pressing and wasn't impressed with the sound. Compared to the first pressing, this is muddy, and sounds like it may have simply been mastered from a CD.
-
Great repress, sounds amazing. Only problem is that I got it shipped with the sleeve bent, wasn’t protected enough by Amazon. Sucks, but still a great album.

Edited 5 years agoNice thick records, great sound. Only complaint is the labels don't display which side is which, so you've got to go squinting for the runout etching.

If there's one Aphex Twin album that's work owning in vinyl, it's this one. The quality is as immaculate as it gets in the format, and it's great to play in the background. It would be nice if the packaging is better, since the two LPs are kept tightly together (and it's opened by the top rather than the side for some reason), but they don't affect the build for each one. Helps that this release is apparently sourced from analog tapes. If only this kind of effort can be made for certain other LPs from the artist.

My copy sounds and looks great. Only thing I don't like is the punch hole. It has been cut way to tight, so i have to push it a bit down to play it without any warp on my record player. Anyone else has this problem?
