King Crimson – In The Court Of The Crimson King (An Observation By King Crimson)

This might be one of the best sounding pressings in my collection. No surface noise, flat, warm, and full. Really damn cheap too, so I definitely recommend this one.

I went through several copies, but my Moonchild complains the garden is too noisy with popping and crackling sounds to sleep.

Absolutely love this repress. Zero surface noise and such an immersive listening experience on my system.

This is one beautiful record. Not only is the full record remixed/remastered beautifully by Wilson, but the extra tracks on record two are really worth it. I'm not huge with extra tracks, demos, early takes, etc., but this is worth every penny. The instrumental version of Epitaph on side C is a feast for Mellotron lovers, then side D starts with basically Greg Lake singing Epitaph acapella with the band kicking in much later in the song. On this track, Greg's voice is full and present, like he's in the room, singing across the many years since this record first dropped. The rest of the tracks are of great interest, especially Moonchild, with Fripp's guitar and Giles drums keeping a quiet but all important rhythm. The 1969 Take of In The Court ... is lacking the choral vocals that make the version that wound up on the record so great, yet the stripped down version here features Greg's bass, drums, Ian McDonald's flute, and Fripp's strummed acoustic guitar really works. 10/10

I think this is a good pressing and should’ve been mastered by George Piros.

I’m surprised of finding no comments about this pressing. This is an excellent representation of this album in my opinion. Everything sounds great! I think it sounds considerably better than the Steven Wilson remix. I also compared it to the original A2 / B3 and it sounds very different but at the end of the day, in the same level. I can’t choose one of these two. So I have to keep both in the collection. Tks!

This has to be one of the best sounding records I own! On my copy, the entire record plays with an almost dead-silent surface and the mastering itself is fantastic! I'm perfectly satisfied and can confidently recommend this issue.

Got this record in a really good condition with it obi for a really fair price, I couldn't be happier, it's a great pressing

I picked up this copy at a record fair in ICC, Gent, Belgium, completely unaware that it was an unofficial release.

Another incredible Canadian Red Label. I will assume other bad reviews are for worn out copies or other pressing, as the NM copy of this pressing I have compares really favorably to the UK one.
