No mention of "STEREO" directly left of the spindle hole on the labels. Rather the text "SAMPLE COPY NOT FOR SALE" appears in place of it.
Features yellow "PROMOTIONAL d/j copy monaural CSG PROCESS" sticker on the front, as well as transparent title sticker at the top-left corner.
The jacket is the same as a stock stereo jacket, but with the aforementioned stickers. It displays the stereo catalog number, SD 8245.
The labels display the unique mono catalog number, 8245 (no "SD" prefix).

the mono mix is just amazing. the sound is much fuller and this is a fold down mix that atlantic records did in n.y .

Of course this has to sound better, this is what I am talking about, If this was the case, why bother make common stereo prressings than make a mono promo that I didnt even know existed and have it become so rare and expensive. It just does not make sense. I can't tell you how many albums I am interested in have this sort of treatment. Its very infuriating!!!!

Edited 6 years agoOne day I hope the mono version of In The Court gets a reissue. I know this is a promo and everything but in my personal opinion this album sounds way better with the mono mix. The drums doesn't sound all over the place on 21st Century Schizoid Man and Moonchild is actually great without all that studio stereo magic. It's just a better experiences altogether than the stereo mix.
I'm not much of an reissue guy but if (and this is a big IF) In The Court OF Crimson gets a mono reissue, I'll be one of the first few people to pick it up.
