"Evanescence" is Evanescence's self-titled third studio album, released on October 11, 2011 through Wind-Up. It was originally scheduled for release in Fall 2010, but the initial, experimental-leaning sessions were scrapped at their label's behest, thus forcing the band to rewrite the album.
The album was available in two editions, standard and deluxe. The latter contained four bonus tracks plus a DVD with behind the scenes footage of the recording sessions.
As of 2016, track #9 is titled as "The End of the Dream" on all new pressings. On the deluxe edition, track #13 is titled as "A New Way to Bleed".

Picked up a copy on BF and wasn’t disappointed in the least. Sounds great even turned up at full volume. My copy was more quiet than I expected, >normal surface noise that is just part of the vinyl experience in my opinion. The color is beautiful as well so 10/10 recommend.
Copies for $25 plus shipping here. I paid $30 in store.

Although it sounds great on first tracks on each side, the nearer to label the more the sound degrades and becomes very compressed and distorted. Vinyl rather noisy between tracks but it's not so much noticeable during the music. As for visual - the purple smoke is just gorgeous. -

Made to be played loud, hella fun to listen to. No pops, minimal surface noise. Would have liked a gatefold but the disc looks cool. Craft is usually pretty solid. Good buy for any Evanescence fan. -
Great sound quality, has a very smooth and pretty yet punchy and loud sound! Some noticeable inner groove distortion but it’s really not an issue here. Definitly reccomend this pressing! -

Pressing sounds pretty good, and a big improvement over the fallen pressing. However, my copy is pretty warped and has a skip on What You Want. The warp doesn't effect the playback, and there are no off key notes, but its very very noticeable. As far as the skip, I have a friend who also owns a copy of this album and has a skip on one of his songs as well. So maybe just be aware that a few people have skips on their pressings. -

This review is a matter of opinion, but the songs on this album (again, this is according to my personal music taste) literally sounded all the same. There was no personality like the previous two studio albums.
There was only two songs that stuck out to me ('What You Want' and 'Swimming Home'). The rest of this album was just like one really long song and apart from the two songs listed above, I honestly couldn't tell when a song switched on to the next one unless I looked on my computer. to see the tracklist. Was not impressed.
