It’s hard to believe that some of the commentators here have actually listened to an original version because this sounds better in every department. -

I don't like the way this version was remastered. The bass wave has been replaced by a square signal, it's less pleasant to listen to and distorts the album. Also when there are no more low frequencies, I hear the difference in volume.
Not to mention that Mr. Thomson takes all the rights to the album.
I will buy the original -

Agree this is a wonderful sounding pressing although my copy of the sleeve is pretty worn the contents are fresh :) -

Amazing pressing of this dub masterpiece. Really dynamic sound and deep rich bass. -

Yes, a fine Dub Album - when you got the Original Starlight Release.
I have both Re-Releases on Mir and Greensleeves. Today I get my Original Starlight Copy and...
what a Surprise : Crisp STEREO Sound & Mix ! With effects ,false starts between the tracks -missing on both Re -Releases.
So shame on Greensleeves and Mr. Overton Brown , too.
Both have a poor mono mix - mastered from Vinyl ?!
Lucky One, If you get a original Starlight Copy ! -

Seriously controversial this one,
Scientist is pissed off because of VP practices and I can understand why. After all, the orginal album is called Scientist - Dub Landing and not Linval Presents Dub Landing. I don't know the intricacies of the situation between the VP and Scientist but If I understand that correctly, Scientist said VP didn't put his name in the release title so they wouldn't have to pay him any money.
Here is a good read on those releases, a lot of things are explained there (rights, strange vocals etc. : https://www.bloodandfire.co.uk/db/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50764
I borrowed and analysed the CD release of Dub Landing Vol.1, which is probably using the same source as the vinyl pressing and I noticed right away what I really despise about almost all current VP releases (and Greensleeves) : the sound is LOUD. Once you put it in an audio editor, you see it as clear as day. The release is seriously brickwalled. It is absolutely not pleasant to listen to it. I'd rather buy an original copy and do a digital transfer myself since I have a vinyl rig dedicated to this.
I know we all have different tastes but I'm puzzled by comments saying the sound is great when we can see obvious bad mastering practices there.
Maybe I'm among the last defenders of a more natural sound? With a waveform that doesn't look like a brick?
