Rod Stewart – Greatest Hits Vol. 1

This is a great pressing. Punchy, with great separation and a well balanced soundstage. Highs and lows are right where they ought to be.

Nice, clean vinyl. Quiet pressing with good separation, imaging and DR. "S" is a little pronounced in some sections.

Nice and ‚sexy’ compilation with a good selection of songs from his first phase. Pressing 3/5 - some ticks and pops

The printing resolution dots per inch (DPI) is horrible but the sound is definitely louder compared to the original 1990 Warner Bros. Records – 3373-2 release.

O.k. it it’s now May 2024, 60 years !!! after Rod debuted in showbiz and while the man is still going strong with his worldtour coming to Amsterdam next month.

Unfortunately his music really sucks for the last 40 years already, but all the great music he made from late 60ties up to the early 80ties with The Faces and as a solo artist, his starpower, singing and performing skills makes him an alltime legend.

It is fun collecting Rod Stewart on vinyl from his peak period. There are so many great LP’s and 7 inches available on Discogs and most of them dirt cheap as I quess they aren far more copies on the market than there is a demand for. Grab some copies while you still can and give them a spin. You won’t regret.

When you want to buy a Rod complation you absolutely need this one (his hits from mid to late 70ties), as well as the Sing It Again Rod album (with his solo hits from the first half of the 70ties). Then you can ship all other Rod compilations except for his work with The Faces which you also need. Great stuff, enjoy!

I picked this up for $20 at my local Walmart by chance. This release and pressing is superb!

The sound is great and has a fantastic balance of highs and punch. The pressing itself is damn near perfect - I hear no surface noise on my copy even on the softer songs like “Sailing” and “I Don’t Want To Talk About It.”

As someone said below I have paid >$40 for releases/pressings that come no where near the quality this one has. I hope they put out a Vol 2.

Where does the Vol. 1 part of the title appear on this release?

Some sibilance on Side B, darker translucent pink/purple, pressed by MPO. Slight background noise in quieter ages but nothing concerning.

If I am correct, I believe this is the last Warner Records album to have ever used the shield, This came out nearly a year after Warner lost the rights to use the shield. This could be a rarity someday simply for that fact.
