I got in the mail from UK - Alcatrazz limited edition(1000 copies) 180g - Live Sentence (No Parole From Rock'N'Roll) lp guitarist is Yngwie Malmsteen originally released 1984

Today I bought several box sets of Colin Davis' Berlioz Cycle. All Philips vinyl. Eventually I'll complete the series, but trying not to spend more than $10 per release. They are all excellent music and the records are audio perfection.

Today I got The New Pornographers Whiteout Conditions and Father John Misty Pure Comedy both on vinyl. Still expecting to be delivered Led Zeppelin I and Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie. Supposed to arrive by end of day. Both of those on vinyl also.

Today picked up at local used record store - original Canadian pressing of KISS Lovegun lp for $15 in very good shape
and traded my Metagenisus album that I picked up at thrift store for $2 it's a rare lp of a local band from late 1970's Guy really wanted it as he had seen them several times and knew some of band . traded for original pressing of RUSH a show of hands in mint shape that he wanted $40 for.

Went to the bi-annual record expo yesterday. $2.00 entry. Was very stoked to pick up the following, all for very fair prices.

Herman's Hermits - This Door Swings Both Ways / For Love (7" single)

The Slash and Co. box set was $15 (a good $3-15 less than what it sells for on here), the other three items were a total of $4.30.

My dad and I were shopping together at Hybrid Records and Half Price Books, the first item was from HPB and the other three were from Hybrid. Dad picked up an Island Records Group sampler for $1, but it's not in the database. It has some neat bands on it tho, including Nneka and Imperial Teen.

I was conservative with my spending today and only bought one item, Johann Sebastian Bach – Helmut Walcha - Works For Organ - Vol.I. It's a whopper, though - an 8 LP box set of, as the title says, the organ works of J.S. Bach. I found it at one of my main haunts, the local Half Price Books, for a very reasonable $5.99. Not only is the box VG+, the records are all VG or VG+. If you have a Half Price Books store in your area, I strongly suggest checking them out. They have a lot of bargains, not just on records, but also books, movies, and other music formats.

meevan, there's an autographed release of the new Afghan Whigs LP that's being sold exclusively through Barnes & Noble. My dad likes to purchase B&N's autographed exclusives, which is how I know. You might want to consider getting a copy before they sell out. The signature is only of Greg Dulli, not the full band, but still, a cool item to have.

Thanks for the heads up. I will give it some thought. Since I have a good sounding copy I probably will be happy with what I have. I do not have many doubles in my collection. I tend to remove inferior copies when I find a better one when it comes to used vinyl. I have one or two things in multiple copies if there is a special pressing but mostly I get vinyl for the music so I only need one.

I gotcha, I'm the same way because of my budget. My dad and I considered buying the signed B&N edition of Sleater-Kinney's No Cities to Love, but I'd already gotten the standard release. In Spades will probably be the next record we get from B&N, and I look forward to it, since I've heard of the Whigs for years but never listened to one of their albums.

It was the first weekend in ages that I didn't buy anything.

But I did go to see Pierre Henry - Messe De Liverpool performed live in the cathedral it was originally composed for. It was the 50th anniversary of the consecration of the cathedral and the performance was stunning.

Today I got Harry Styles debut LP. I never thought I would buy an album related to One Direction but the album is excellent. I also picked Waylon Jennings ~ Dreaming My Dreams.

Got my second replacement copy of Henryk Górecki's Symphony No. 3 and it's just as maddeningly noisy and poppy as the others. Especially maddening as this piece is full of low tones and quiet (supposedly) ages. I'm very disappointed in Nonesuch.

I checked out our local used record store for the first time. Predictably it was mostly rock and/or new releases, but I did find a small pocket of lounge/exotica and picked up RCA's "An Adventure in HIgh Fidelity" box set (1954, the title composition is amazing) and a promotional version of Buddy Cole Power House! (1959).

The funny coincidence was when I first took the record out and saw the label I thought to myself, ah, WB Vitaphone, just like the Bugs Bunny cartoons. Then to find out Powerhouse was actually one of those songs that absolutely makes several of those WB cartoon classics so great, I was even more excited.

I have a copy of Ingenuity in Sound on the way, can't wait!

I just checked it out, according to the reviews left on Barnes and Noble's webpage the poster it comes with is what is autographed and instead of being autographed by the cast it's just autographed by one person, the illustrator of the poster.

Not worth it to me. Seems to have a lot of poor ratings because of that.
