Just listened to the revised version, sound is very good on almost all tracks. I'm not gonna be super critical on tracks that were laid down 70-100 years ago. the transfers were cleaned up quite nicely. on my copy LP 1 was a tiny bit noisy because of some superficial dirt and scuffs so i was unsure of the quality of the transfers. i cleaned that one twice, maybe on real high end cleaning eqipment things will get better. on subsequent records it was dead silent on almost all tracks. i tend not to turn it up too loud on my B&W speakers with older recordings not wanting to throw some oddball distortion through them, but when i replayed a few tracks i knew sounded good the first time trough they sounded quite nice turned up loudly. i wish i had room to keep this on my shelves for a while, but i cant keep everything i trip across so it will be sold.

Edited 6 years agoAn eclectic collection of Jazz throughout the century. Includes tracks like Body & Soul, KoKo, So What, and even Alabama (Coltrane). However, sound quality is subpar, and most of the listening experience consists of critiquing and grading the audio transfers rather than actually enjoying the music.
